TUESDAYS | Making Winter Solstice Lanterns! | Nov 29, Dec 6, 13 | 1st–8th graders | 3:30 – 5PM
We’ll learn about some of the Winter Solstice traditions from around the world and will make our own versions of Winter Solstice Lanterns to celebrate the warmth and light of the sun as the shortest day of the year approaches on December 21st!! We’ll focus on working with light and shadow, creating paper cut-outs and constructing our lanterns using wood, caning, and a combination of paper-based materials. Each young artist will create their own design for a lantern with support and guidance, while working in the Open Studio setting.
*All Fire in the Belly workshops are process-based.
